MORGAN OVERVIEW

 Looking through the Sumter Co. History we find: 26 Apr 1833..(deed) to Charles W. Morgan of Laurens Co. (Ga.). Lot #72, 26th Dist. He is also listed in the 1840 (the earliest) census of Sumter Co.  Charles was born about 1790 since the 1850 Census lists him as 60. Charles was 30 when his son Robert W. was born and was a widower on the 1850 census.  Then in 1853, when he was 63, he married a widow (Dicey Deas) when Robert was about 33.  He was married to Dicey for 16 yrs.  Charles died about 1869 at age 79. Robert was then age 49.
Charles W. Sr's probated Will stated that he had four sons, Robert, Gibbon, John, Charles Jr. (all sons had W. for middle initial) & one daughter, Julie E. Jones. The relationship of the Morgan's to the Greene's occurs with Carrie Lillie Morgan who married James Phillip Greene, Sr. on April 12, 1912.
